Patna Police has arrested Prashant Kishore, the head of Jan Suraj Party, who was on a hunger strike demanding action against the BPSC exam paper leak. Police has accused PK of illegally protesting in Gandhi Maidan. Police said that PK was protesting illegally. Legal action will be taken against him. He will now be produced in court.
Actually, PK was on an indefinite hunger strike for the last four days. Earlier, Patna Police had detained Prashant Kishore at midnight. Police took him from the hunger strike site to AIIMS in an ambulance at 4 am. He was separated from everyone. PK refused to get treatment and said that he will continue the hunger strike.
Police clashed with PK’s supporters outside AIIMS. Supporters say, Prashant Kishore was fighting for the people of Bihar, for the students. The government is afraid of this unity. Physical violence against him is condemnable. At the same time, after the clash, the police took Prashant Kishore out of AIIMS and took him to Naubatpur. The administration took this step in view of the uproar by Prashant’s supporters.
Police vacated Gandhi Maidan
Patna Police has vacated the place in Gandhi Maidan, where Prashant Kishor was sitting on a hunger strike with the protesters. Patna Police also checked the vehicles leaving Gandhi Maidan. Police took Prashant Kishor in an ambulance
Police took Prashant Kishor in an ambulance. Before being taken into custody, the Jan Suraaj chief said that the party would file a petition in the High Court on January 7 regarding BPSC irregularities. Prashant Kishor said, it is not a matter of decision for us whether we will continue the protest or not. We will continue doing what we are doing now, there will be no change in it.
Sat with protesting students at Gandhi Maidan
Earlier on Sunday, Prashant Kishor sat with protesting students at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. He also appealed to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav to lead the protest. He said that Tejashwi Yadav is a big leader and is also the Leader of Opposition (LOP). Prashant Kishor was reacting to the remarks of former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.
Tejashwi should lead the protest
He said that being the Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav should have led the protest in his place. He (Tejashwi Yadav) is a big leader. He should have led the protest. I am asking him to lead the protest. We will step aside. He said that he was coming to Gandhi Maidan with five people, lakhs of people should be talked about. The founder of Jan Suraj said that politics can happen at any time. We do not have any party banner.
Passion of the people of Bihar
Prashant Kishore said that this is not a dharna. This is the passion of the people of Bihar to improve their condition, secure their future. I am tired of answering the allegations. Look around, and if possible see the vanity van. Kishore said that we will also sleep here. On Saturday, Tejashwi Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of politicizing the issue of BPSC protest.
Allegation of politicizing the movement
He accused the students of politicizing the independent movement and said that these people joining the protest are the B team of BJP. He said that it is being completely politicized. We feel that the people of Bihar have to recognize those who are the ‘B’ team of BJP and are trying to crush this independent movement. This is highly condemnable.
Attempt to end the movement
On the controversy over the vanity van of Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishore, Tejashwi Yadav said that an attempt was made to end the movement. Actors sit in the vanity van and the producer and director make them sit, we know who the producer is, who the director is, and everyone knows why the actor was made to sit. The students are demanding the cancellation of the Preliminary Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 conducted by BPSC on December 13.
