Mandsaur: Shamgarh police has caught a woman in Hanumantia who committed theft in her own in-laws’ house, read to know the reason behind the theft

Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Shamgarh police on Sunday caught a woman in Hanumantiya who had committed theft in her own in-laws’ house. Police have arrested her in the case of theft of jewellery and cash worth Rs 15 lakh. During interrogation, she said that the reason for the theft was her father’s heavy debt. After committing the theft, the accused younger daughter-in-law had hidden the jewellery and cash in the house itself which have been recovered by the police. Police produced the accused younger daughter-in-law in the court from where she was sent to jail.

Know what is the whole matter

According to Shamgarh police, theft took place in the empty house of farmer Balmukund Patidar near Ram Mandir in Gram Panchayat Hanumantia on January 5 at 2.30 pm. Unknown thieves broke into the house and stole gold and silver jewellery and cash worth about 15 lakhs from the cupboards kept in the house. Balmukund Patidar complained about this by going to the police station, after which the police registered a case and started investigation.

On Monday morning, the dog squad team from Mandsaur also investigated and the cyber team was also kept on alert. ASP, SDOP Dinesh Prajapati, Thanaprabhari Uday Singh Alawa inspected the spot two to three times. SDOP Dinesh Prajapati said that when he reached to inspect the spot, it was revealed that there was only one gate to go inside the house. A child of the house was sitting outside that gate for a long time. The thieves were told to have come from the roof i.e. the roof with Kavelu. After this, when looked at closely, the suspicion fell on the family members. After this, the family members were questioned.

Choti Bahu got scared during interrogation

He told that all the family members were questioned two to three times. Balmukund Patidar’s Chhoti Bahu’s statements were coming out different every time. She was getting scared all the time due to which the suspicion on her deepened. Then when detailed interrogation was done with Chhoti Bahu, she confessed her crime. The accused Chhoti Bahu had also stolen and hidden the jewellery and cash in the downstairs room where other items were kept, which was recovered.

Daughter-in-law’s father has a debt of Rs 30 lakh

The accused younger daughter-in-law told the reason for the theft during interrogation that her father has a debt of Rs 30 lakh. Her maternal home is in Bardia Amra village. She would have given this money to her father, which would have paid off half of his debt. The police recovered a gold bracelet, a gold ring, a gold chain, two gold head rings, a gold ear top, a pair of earrings, a pair of gold earrings, a gold pearl mangalsutra, 10 silver toe rings, a pair of silver bracelets, 6 pairs of silver anklets and Rs 1,51,000 in cash. The accused daughter-in-law was arrested and presented in the court from where she was sent to jail.
