Jharkhand: The mobile phone of a Rajasthan High Court judge was stolen at the famous Basukinath temple in Dumka, Jharkhand. The police raided the border areas of Bihar, West Bengal and Bangladesh and arrested four members of the gang.

Jharkhand: The mobile phone of a Rajasthan High Court judge was stolen during worship on January 1 this year at the famous Basukinath temple in Dumka, Jharkhand. Revealing the matter, the police has exposed an inter-state gang of mobile thieves. Police said that four members of the gang have been arrested by raiding the border areas of Bihar, West Bengal and Bangladesh.

Apart from the judge’s mobile phone, a total of eight stolen mobiles have been recovered from them. Jarmundi police station in-charge Shyamanand Mandal said that on January 1, 2025, taking advantage of the crowd in Basukinath Dham temple, thieves stole the mobiles of many devotees including the Justice of Rajasthan. An FIR was registered in this regard at Jarmundi police station.

On the instructions of senior police officers, a special team was formed to investigate the matter. On the basis of technical evidence, this team arrested two people from Babupur village of Teenpahar police station area of ​​​​Sahibganj district. After this, on their information, two others were caught from Bihar, West Bengal and Bangladesh border. Also, stolen mobiles have been recovered from them.

Many gangs have been caught earlier too

It is worth mentioning that many gangs of mobile thieves from Rajmahal and Teenpahar area under Sahibganj district of Jharkhand have been caught earlier too. It has been revealed many times that these gangs run schools in Teenpahar area which train children in mobile theft. After training a large number of children, the operators of these schools are sending them to big cities and metros.

After this, the work of putting these children on duty in different areas and monitoring them is the responsibility of the gang leaders. Ranchi police had also recently arrested members of a similar gang from Teenpahar.
