Bombay High Court has expressed concern over Coldplay’s live concert as part of ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ to be held from January 18 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and has asked Maharashtra government to take appropriate action.

International band Coldplay’s three-day live concert is going to be held in Navi Mumbai from January 18. At the same time, there was also a matter of irregularities in the ticket sales of Coldplay concert. A petition was also filed in the Bombay High Court regarding this. At the same time, the High Court has said that the petition expressing concern about the irregularities in the sale of music festival tickets is important. The Maharashtra government should take appropriate action in this matter.

Coldplay’s live concert is going to be held at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai from January 18 under the ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’. This three-day music festival will be organized on January 18, 19 and 21. Its craze is at its peak. But there is a scramble for tickets. The petition filed in the court highlights the alleged irregularities in its online ticket sales. At the same time, the High Court says that these allegations should be resolved.

‘Allegations of black marketing should be resolved’

Lawyer Amit Vyas has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court regarding irregularities in the sale of live concert tickets. At the same time, a division bench of High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Judge Amit Borkar said that the petition actually highlights the importance of regulating and monitoring online ticket sales for major events. In particular, allegations of black marketing, fraud and revenue loss should be addressed.

The High Court said, ‘However, any legislative or policy initiative should be initiated by the competent authorities under the constitutional and statutory scheme. The court said that the appropriate legislature or executive has the right to make or amend effective laws, rules and regulations to address the issues of online ticket sales. At the same time, earlier the High Court bench dismissed the petition on January 10.

Earlier, the bench dismissed the petition on January 10, saying that the issues raised in it are related to the legislative field. Therefore the court cannot interfere in it. Coldplay’s three-day live concert will be held on January 18, 19 and 21 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai from 6 pm. Booking of tickets for this concert opened on BookMyShow on 22 September 2024.
