Kho Kho World Cup 2025: India has become the first world champion team of Kho Kho. In the final played on Sunday, January 19 in New Delhi, the Indian women’s team easily defeated Nepal by a huge margin of 38 points in a one-sided fashion and won the title. The Indian women’s team, which has been winning every match with constant dominance since the first match of the tournament, continued the same style in the final as well and won the championship by defeating Nepal with a scoreline of 78-40.
The first Kho Kho World Cup started at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi from January 13 and in its very first match, the Indian women’s team registered a big win against South Africa by scoring 176 points. With this win, Team India had made its intentions clear and this intention was to destroy every team. With the final on Sunday, the Indian team turned its intentions into reality and captured the title.
India’s dominance from the beginning
This match was considered tough for the Indian team because like them, Nepal is also a strong Kho-Kho team, but the Indian women dominated from the first turn itself. In turn-1, the Indian team attacked and took full advantage of the mistakes of the Nepali players in defense and started the match with a huge lead of 34-0. In the second turn, it was Nepal’s turn to attack and this team also opened its account but the Indian defenders did not let them score points easily. In this way, the score after the second turn was 35-24.

India’s decisive lead in the third turn

India scored 38 more points in turn three. Nepal had no answer to the huge lead of 49 points. It seemed as if Nepal had surrendered in front of Indian players. Indian women’s team remained undefeated in the entire tournament
Indian women’s team and Nepal women’s team did not lose a single match till the final. Indian team registered a victory of 157 points against South Korea in its first match and defeated them 175-18. After this, Indian women’s team also displayed a strong game against Iran and won the match by a margin of 100-16. India defeated Malaysia by a margin of 100-20 in its last match. Indian women’s team won the match by 66-16 in the semi-finals. Now after winning the final, the Indian team has remained undefeated in the entire tournament
