Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has described the three new criminal laws as historic. He gave credit for this to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CM Yadav said that as a result of the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the commitment of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, three new criminal laws are being implemented in the country. These laws, made keeping in mind the needs and challenges of the present time, are historic steps towards making the Indian judicial system more democratic by removing the colonial mindset.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the state government is committed to 100 percent implementation of these laws in the state. The implementation of new laws started in the country from July 2024. With the aim of making these laws effective in the state along with implementation, the state government had already started conducting the necessary activities. A five-pronged strategy was worked out to inform the people about the new laws and ensure their implementation up to the police station level.
State government appreciated for implementation
The Chief Minister said that their progress was ensured through regular monitoring by setting timelines for public awareness, training, system and technical upgradation, equipment and material resources, creation of new posts and issuance of rules and notifications from the state level. The Central Government has appreciated the state government for the implementation of the three new criminal laws, namely Indian Justice Code, Indian Civil Defense Code and Indian Evidence Act.
New laws are effective for crime
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the new laws define new age crimes like cyber crime, data theft and digital fraud and provide strict punishment for them. These laws ensure speedy trial and strict punishment for cases against women and children, provisions for timely investigation and hearing have been added to them for crimes like rape. Through the new laws, efforts have also been made to settle cases quickly through digital technology and simplification of procedures.
Training on new laws in police training institutes
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the main objective of implementing the new laws is to provide relief to the general public. Therefore, a special campaign was launched through poster exhibition, group discussion and short films to create awareness about the law among the general public. Along with this, officers and employees of police and other departments were trained. So far, training has been provided to more than 87 thousand. Training has also been included in the annual course calendar of all the police training institutes of the state.
Facility of e-FIR is a boon for the common man
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that from July to the end of December 2024, one lakh 40 thousand 235 first information were registered, 4110 first information were registered at zero and 6577 e-FIRs were registered. The facility of e-FIR made in the new laws is a boon for the common man in the current technological era. Individuals can write their complaint to the police sitting at home. Madhya Pradesh has been a pioneer in implementing the system of e-summons in the country. This system has been going on in the state for the last four years.
Along with increasing efficiency, the time of police personnel is also being saved. Out of a total of 5 lakh 73 thousand 776 summons received between July 2024 and December 2024, 3 lakh 40 thousand summons were served online through WhatsApp and e-Rakshak. The MP e-Rakshak app implemented in the state is helpful in keeping information about criminals, ensuring identification of suspicious persons, vehicle search and online summons service.
E-Sakshi app developed in Bhopal
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the e-Sakshi app was created in the Central Academy for Police Training in Bhopal and its pilot project was run in Delhi Police on the instructions of the Supreme Court. Now it is being implemented across India through NIC’s, e-Sakshi app. He said that through the National Forensic Science University Campus being built in Bhopal, students trained in forensic science and forensics will be used in the implementation of new laws.
