Delhi Election 2025: BJP will put all its strength in the campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections today. Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held on February 5 and counting of votes will be done on February 8. Just before the elections, on Saturday, eight MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) joined the BJP along with a large number of their supporters. On Friday, these eight MLAs resigned from the primary membership of AAP, alleging alleged corruption and the Arvind Kejriwal-led party (AAP) deviating from its ideology. These MLAs were denied tickets by AAP in the assembly elections this time.

The MLAs who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) include Bhavna Gaur (Palam), Rohit Mehraulia (Trilokpuri), Girish Soni (Madipur), Madan Lal (Kasturba Nagar), Rajesh Rishi (Uttam Nagar), BS June (Bijwasan), Naresh Yadav (Mehrauli) and Pawan Sharma (Adarsh ​​Nagar).

According to a statement issued by the state BJP, the former AAP MLAs said that not getting election tickets is a common thing in politics, but as party workers, they are very sad to see that tickets were not distributed to committed workers, but it (tickets) was sold to the “highest bidders”.

At the same time, AAP said in a statement that it has many qualified and well-educated candidates who are interested in election tickets. It said that some sitting MLAs were not given tickets this time, causing “dissatisfaction”.
