Himachal Pradesh News: The Joint Front of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Employees and Engineers has expanded its committee and now formed the Joint Action Committee of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Employees, Engineers and Pensioners. After the new formation, the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Board has decided to fight a decisive battle against the state government. The Electricity Board Joint Front has also warned the government led by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu of a big movement.

Joint Front co-convenor Heera Lal Verma said in Shimla that the state government is engaged in experimenting on the electricity board. Sometimes the sub-committee experiments on the electricity board, and sometimes the state government makes a policy for the electricity board by sitting in a room. He said that now the work of ending the electricity board in the name of rationalization is being done. He said that the employees are not against rationalization, but they want that it should be decided by sitting with everyone. He said that such decisions cannot be taken by sitting in a room.

Allegations of stopping new recruitment process

Hiralal Verma said that the electricity board provides services to about 30 lakh consumers of Himachal Pradesh. In such a situation, if the electricity board is tampered with, then the common people will also be troubled. Co-convenor Hira Lal Verma said that recently 700 posts of the electricity board have been abolished. The Chief Minister has also given permission for this. He said that the electricity board has been put in back gear. Due to this, the morale of the employees is also falling.

He said that the employees and pensioners will not tolerate tampering with the electricity board. He said that today there is anger among the employees and pensioners against the state government. New recruitment is not being done in the electricity board. The state government is trying to do it on the basis of outsourcing only.

Electricity board is not in loss – Hiralal Verma

Hiralal Verma said that efforts are being made to show the electricity board in loss, whereas the electricity board is not in loss. He said that Rs 178 crore is to be paid to the electricity board by different government companies. This is the payment of electricity bill. He said that similarly the subsidy given to the electricity board is also not being paid on time.

He said that because of this the employees and pensioners are getting troubled. In the coming time, the Joint Front will not back down from a big movement. He said that if the pensioners cannot come out on the streets, then their family members will come out on the streets and the employees of the electricity board will also protest against the state government. He said that he will not tolerate the injustice being done by the government.
