Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Voting for the Delhi Assembly elections ended today (5 February). This time 60.42 percent voting took place in Delhi. Strong street-to-street campaigning took place in Delhi

All the parties held roadshows, padyatras, bike rallies, rallies and public meetings till the last day of campaigning. SP and TMC leaders also came out in the field for AAP, while for BJP, rallies of PM Narendra Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Amit Shah attracted the crowd. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi from Congress held road shows in the capital to regain the lost ground of the party.

Disabled voters have already cast their votes

Talking about voters, 1.56 crore voters have to exercise their franchise in the capital, out of which 83.76 lakh are men, 72.36 lakh are women and 1,267 are third gender voters. It is necessary to mention here that the facility of voting at home has been provided for senior citizens and disabled persons. Out of 7,553 eligible voters, 6,980 have already cast their votes. In the 2020 elections, there was a decline in voting and only 62.82 percent votes were cast.

What are the arrangements from polling booth to security?

13,766 polling stations have been set up in the capital. These include 70 polling stations each run by women, Divyangs and youth. Apart from this, 733 polling stations have been set up for Divyangs. More than 21,500 ballot units and VVPATs have been prepared for the elections. If we talk about security, there are extensive arrangements for it. The Election Commission has deployed 220 companies of paramilitary forces. At the same time, 19,000 home guards and 35,626 Delhi policemen have been deployed for security.

In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, 62.59 percent voting took place, while in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, 56 percent voting took place here.
