Cold persists in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan
There is a possibility of cloudy weather and rain in Haryana and Punjab till February 8. However, between February 9 and 11, the rain may shift towards the Punjab-Haryana border. The effect of cold will remain due to cold winds. Cold wave continues in many parts of Rajasthan. In the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius in many districts including Jaipur, Kota and Sikar. The minimum temperature in Fatehpur was 2.8 degrees Celsius, which has increased the cold.
Cold increased due to snowfall in Himachal and Kashmir
Snowfall continues in high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall has been recorded in Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for thunderstorms and lightning in some areas. In Kashmir too, the temperature has reached minus degrees Celsius due to snowfall and rain. Cold day conditions prevail in many areas including Srinagar. According to meteorologists, the weather will remain bad here for the next few days due to western disturbance.
