New York: Immigration officials have arrested four people, including an Indian national, in connection with allegations of sexual assault in the US. Indian national Jaspal Singh was arrested in Tukwila, Washington on January 29. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Department (ICE)-Seattle said in a release last week that Jaspal Singh has been accused of ‘sexual assault’. The other arrested persons are citizens of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.
Removal action will be taken after the arrest
After the arrest, all four people will remain in ICE custody until the removal action is taken. Drew Bostock, director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Seattle Field Office, said, “Protecting our communities, preventing further harassment is of utmost importance to ICE in the Pacific Northwest. These arrests reinforce the message that the presence of illegal criminal elements will not be tolerated.”
