Lucknow: Mulayam Singh’s daughter-in-law and Uttar Pradesh Women Commission Vice President Aparna Bisht Yadav praised PM Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for BJP’s victory in the 2025 Delhi elections and Milkipur by-election. She said that the victory in the Milkipur by-election is a result of faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Expressing gratitude to BJP workers and the people of Delhi, Aparna Yadav acknowledged their role in helping the party form the government.

Chandrabhanu Paswan won from Milkipur
When asked about the Delhi elections, she said, “..this should have happened long ago. I want to thank the BJP workers. I want to thank the people of Delhi for giving us a chance to form the government in Delhi. Let us tell you that in the by-election on the Milkipur assembly seat, BJP candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan won by 61,710 votes. According to the results declared by the Election Commission, 38-year-old Paswan got more than 1.46 lakh votes while his nearest rival 42-year-old Ajit Prasad of the Samajwadi Party (SP) got 84,687 votes. Santosh Kumar of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) came third and got 5,459 votes.

BJP had lost this seat in 2022
With the victory of BJP on the Milkipur seat, all five assembly constituencies of Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency have come in the BJP’s kitty. Milkipur was the only seat in Ayodhya district in the assembly elections in the year 2022, On which BJP had lost. Milkipur assembly seat had fallen vacant due to resignation of Awadhesh Prasad from the membership of the assembly after being elected to the Lok Sabha. SP had fielded Prasad’s son Ajit Prasad in the by-election while BJP had made Chandrabhanu Paswan its candidate. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) did not contest the by-election while Congress supported its alliance partner SP. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated the party workers for the ‘historic victory’ of BJP in the Milkipur by-election.

He said in a post on ‘X’, “Hearty congratulations to all the dedicated party officials and hard-working workers for the historic victory of Bharatiya Janata Party in the by-election on Milkipur assembly seat.” The Chief Minister said, “This victory is a symbol of the public welfare policies of the ‘double engine BJP government’ led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the unwavering faith of the common people in the Uttar Pradesh government dedicated to service, security and good governance.” He said, “Congratulations to the victorious candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan and hearty greetings to the God-like people of Milkipur assembly constituency who gave their votes to the development journey and good governance of Uttar Pradesh.”
