After the change of power in Delhi, the debate has intensified over the allegations of corruption against the old Aam Aadmi Party government. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former MLA Vijender Gupta launched a major attack on the AAP government. He alleged that the Arvind Kejriwal government suppressed 14 CAG reports in the last five years, as they would have revealed the corruption of his government.
Vijender Gupta further said that not a single CAG report has been presented in the Delhi Assembly since 2017, which is a clear proof that the Aam Aadmi Party government was involved in corruption and deliberately did not allow these reports to be made public. He said that the people of Delhi have the right to know how the government used their money and in which schemes irregularities were committed.
The evidence will come before the public – Vijender Gupta
The BJP leader also claimed that now that there has been a change of power in Delhi, there are clear instructions from the central government that all CAG reports will be presented in the very first session of the House. PM Modi has taken a tough stand on this and said that he will ensure that the whole truth comes out in front of the public. He said that these reports will reveal evidence of the alleged financial irregularities of the Aam Aadmi Party government, which were hidden till now.
Attempts were made to suppress the opposition – Vijendra Gupta
Vijendra Gupta alleged that the AAP government made every possible effort to prevent corruption related cases from being exposed. He said that the BJP struggled a lot on this issue. It raised its voice from the President to the courts and even inside the House, but every time attempts were made to suppress the opposition. He said that now the situation has changed and no one can stop the truth from coming out.
The BJP leader appealed to the people of Delhi that when the CAG report is presented in the House, they should read it carefully and understand how the Aam Aadmi Party government misled the public in the last ten years. He said that now the time has come that people involved in corruption should be held accountable for their deeds and they should not be forgiven. He said that those who indulge in corruption will now have to answer and BJP is fully prepared to take this fight to its logical conclusion.
