After the order to identify health-related unfit policemen, a list will be made from constables to DSP level officers. It has been asked to prepare and send their report, those who are unfit can be taken necessary action to forcibly retire them by following the complete procedure. Unhealthy and seriously ill policemen can be retired.
The decision to forcibly retire will be taken after a complete medical examination. It is necessary to meet all the parameters of health to do a job in the police. The logic and purpose behind this is that only physically and mentally fit policemen can give better results. It has also been ordered that during the monthly police meeting, all the officers should be told about the importance of fitness for their job. SSP and SP will ensure that every officer is aware of the need to stay fit.
There is a rule for forced retirement of the employee
The order states that Rule 809 of the Police Manual 1978 provides that policemen who are unfit from the point of view of health can be retired. According to Rule 74 of the Bihar Service Code, an employee can be forcibly retired if he is unable to perform his duty due to his health or any other reason.
This decision has been taken so that the policemen meet the standards of the force and only those who are fit should work. Let us tell you that such an order had come in 2020 also, but it could not be taken forward. This time the order has been given in the election year.
