The foreign secretary said they flew to Marseille in the “French presidential aircraft” and described it as “an extraordinary gesture by President Macron, a symbol of the deep personal trust between the two leaders and their extraordinary respect for each other”. “You can say that India-France relations have truly touched new heights,” Misri said.

He said some bilateral discussions also took place in Marseille. “The discussions covered all aspects of our deep and diverse strategic partnership,” he said. The foreign secretary said they reviewed bilateral cooperation in the areas of defence, space and civil nuclear cooperation, health and people-to-people ties.
