Illegal Indian Deportation: It has not even been 24 hours since PM Modi’s two-day US visit ended and America has already deported the second batch of illegal Indian immigrants.

Indian Deportation Row: PM Modi’s two-day US visit concluded yesterday i.e. on Friday. While PM Modi was preparing to return to India from America, at the same time the Trump administration was preparing to deport the second batch of illegal immigrants. This batch is going to reach India tonight.

This plane will land at Amritsar airport between 10 and 11 pm. According to sources, this time 119 people are being brought in the plane, more than half of which are from Punjab. In this flight, there are 67 people from Punjab, 33 from Haryana, 8 from Gujarat, 3 from Uttar Pradesh, 2 each from Goa and Maharashtra and one each from Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

The first batch had arrived 10 days ago

The first batch of such illegal immigrants from America reached Amritsar on 5 February. Then 104 people were brought in a US military plane tied with handcuffs and shackles. There was an uproar on this from the streets to the Parliament. This kind of inhumane behaviour towards Indians was condemned. Opposition parties even questioned the diplomacy of the Modi government. Opposition parties said that illegal immigrants have been deported earlier also but this is the first time that they are being sent in inhumane conditions in military aircraft. Opposition leaders demanded that the Modi government should talk to the US in this matter.

Will the impact of PM Modi’s visit be seen?

After the uproar in the Parliament on deportation, the Indian government has talked to the US officials in this matter. This issue has also been raised during PM Modi’s US visit. Now it will be interesting to see what stance the Trump administration, which had a heated exchange of views with PM Modi in the last two days while hosting him, takes in this matter? By the way, it is expected that the impact of PM Modi’s meeting with Trump can be seen on this deportation. That is, illegal immigrants should not be handcuffed and shackled. However, it is not yet clear whether these people are being brought by regular flight this time or will be left by military aircraft like last time.

Trump’s strictness on illegal immigrants

The first executive orders signed by Donald Trump as soon as he assumed his second term included the orders to expel illegal immigrants from America. He raised the issue of illegal immigrants throughout his election campaign. The Trump administration is sending such people living in America on a large scale by loading them in military planes.
