A major theft incident came to light on Friday at Qutub Vihar Goyala Dairy in Dwarka, Delhi. Thieves broke into an electronic shop late at night and stole goods worth lakhs of rupees. This incident happened late Thursday night under Chhawla police station. Police have registered a case under the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and started investigation.
According to the FIR, this incident happened at electronic shop number 1 located on STD Road of Qutub Vihar Goyala Dairy. The thieves entered inside by cutting the iron shutter of the shop and stole a total of 354 electronic items including Samsung, Apple mobile phones and LED TVs. Shop owner Sanjeev Kumar told the police that the total cost of the stolen goods is about Rs 84 lakh.
Shop closed late at night, shutter found broken in the morning
Shop owner Sanjeev Kumar said that he has taken the shop on rent and he lives with his family in Phase-1 near Sani Building Material nearby. According to Sanjeev Kumar, he closed his shop on Thursday night at around 10:30 pm and went home. The next day when he reached the shop at 10 am, he saw that the iron shutter of the shop was broken and goods worth lakhs inside were missing.
Police engaged in investigation, no clue of thieves
The shop owner then informed the police about this. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The police is searching the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby so that the thieves can be identified. At present, no one has been arrested in this case. According to police sources, the thieves have carried out this incident in a very planned manner. It is suspected that they must have done a recce of the shop beforehand.
Incidents of theft increased in the area, panic among the people
After this theft incident, there is an atmosphere of panic among the traders and local people of the area. Shopkeepers have demanded the police to increase security in the area and intensify patrolling. At the same time, the police has registered an FIR in the case and started investigation.
