Nagpur: A massive explosion took place in Nagpur district of Maharashtra on Sunday. The surrounding area was shaken by this explosion. It is being told that this explosion took place in an explosive manufacturing unit. Two people have died due to this explosion in the factory, while many others were injured. A senior police officer gave information about the incident.
Investigation of the incident continues
The officer said that the explosion took place at 1:30 pm in the Asian Fireworks Factory in Kotwalbadi of Katol tehsil, about 50 km from the district headquarters. He said, “Two people have died and some others have been injured. Investigation into the cause of the incident has been started.” The officer said that due to the explosion, a minor fire broke out in the surrounding bushes, which has been extinguished.
Firecracker manufacturing work was going on
Nagpur Rural SP Harsh Poddar gave information about the incident. He said, “This is the Asian Fireworks Factory, where fireworks are made. There was a blast here at around 1:30 pm, in which 2 people died and three were slightly injured. The reason behind the explosion is not yet known, a forensic investigation will be conducted for this. The fire has been extinguished.”
Two killed in fire in Mumbai
At the same time, two women died in another accident in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai on Sunday. A massive fire broke out in an 11-floor building here in the morning. Two women died due to the fire. Two other people started suffocating, although now both of them are stable. The fire officer said that the fire broke out at 6:11 am in the Panna Ali Mansion building located in the Masjid Bunder area of South Mumbai. The officer said that the fire started in the meter and wires on the ground floor of the building. During this, two women present on the first floor suffered injuries in their hands and feet and they suffocated due to the smoke caused by the fire.
Sabila Khatun Sheikh, 42, and Sajiya Alam Sheikh, 30, were rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead after suffering severe burn injuries, the official said. Karim Sheikh (20) and Shaheen Sheikh (22) were rushed to the government JJ Hospital after they complained of breathing problems, where their condition was stated to be stable, the official said.
