Home sales in Jaipur grew 5% to 10,695 units in 2024, but rose 39% to Rs 8,388 crore in value terms, real estate data analytics firm PropEquity said. According to PropEquity, home sales in the Rajasthan capital stood at 10,187 units in 2023, valued at Rs 6,019 crore. Sameer Jasuja, founder of PropEquity, attributed the rise in sales value to the rising cost of real estate projects, as land, labour and construction material prices have increased. In addition, developers are launching more premium and luxury housing projects, leading to an increase in sales value.
Sales also increased in these cities
PropEquity recently released data for 15 major tier II cities, where total housing sales grew 4% to 1,78,771 units in 2024 from 1,71,903 in 2023. In terms of value, sales grew 20% to Rs 1,52,552 crore from Rs 1,27,505 crore during 2023. These 15 cities are Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Nashik, Jaipur, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar, Mohali, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Goa, Bhopal and Thiruvananthapuram.
Godrej Properties buys plots for housing projects worth Rs 23,450 crore
Godrej Properties has acquired 12 plots during the April-December period of the current financial year for the development of residential projects worth Rs 23,450 crore. The company plans to buy more plots in the current quarter to expand the business amid strong consumer demand. Godrej Properties has acquired land as part of new business development and has also partnered with landowners. Talking to PTI-Bhasha, Godrej Properties Executive Chairperson Pirojsha Godrej said that ‘business development was very strong during the December quarter.’ He said that the company has signed new projects with a total booking potential of about Rs 11,000 crore during the third quarter of the current financial year. Godrej said that business development crossed Rs 23,000 crore during April-December.
