Abu Azmi said, “The country runs by the constitution and law. Under the law, any person above 18 years of age can marry a person of any religion and can follow any religion. There is no such thing as love jihad. If a Hindu woman marries a Muslim, they change the mind of the woman’s family by putting pressure, after which she says that she was forcibly married. They just want to harass Muslims. Hindus and Muslims have been marrying each other for centuries.” ‘Marriage is done with the consent of both’

Abu Azmi further said, “They want to change the constitution by making laws. A child is born and brought up in a religion but after becoming an adult, when he feels that he likes another religion, he can go with it and the law allows this. There is no forced marriage; marriage takes place with the consent of the boy and the girl.”

‘No Muslim forces anyone to change religion’

He further said, “I do not even think of changing someone’s religion by threatening them. I challenge them. There is a rule in the Muslim religion that Nikaah cannot take place without accepting Islam and this government is doing all this only to harass Muslims.”
