The Trump administration took a big action and fired 2,000 employees at USAID and sent thousands of other employees on leave

According to a PTI report, the Trump administration has issued a notice saying that it has fired 2,000 employees working in USAID and sent thousands of other employees on leave. According to the AP report, this step of the Trump administration has been taken after a federal judge on Friday allowed the removal of USAID employees from work. US District Judge Carl Nichols rejected the request by the employees to put a temporary stay on the government’s plan, after which so many employees have been laid off.

Trump government issued notification

The notification sent to the employees fired from USAID also states that from 11:59 pm on February 23, all direct appointed employees of USAID will be put on administrative leave, except those employees who are associated with mission-based essential tasks, key leadership and specially designated programs.

Trump and Musk had said this

Let us tell you that the Trump administration had already closed the Washington headquarters of USAID and stopped thousands of US aid and development programs globally. President Donald Trump and his ally Elon Musk say foreign aid and development work promote unnecessary spending and a liberal agenda.

The court has reprimanded

In another case against the plan to shut down USAID, a judge has temporarily stopped the administration from stopping foreign aid and the court reprimanded the Trump administration, saying that they have kept the foreign aid on hold despite the court’s order and directed that global aid programs be temporarily resumed.
