West Bengal: A very suspicious box was found in the house of Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, suspected to be a bomb

Two big suspicious boxes were found lying unclaimed very close to the house of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee. Initially, it was suspected that it contained bombs. Due to the fear of bombs, there was a lot of commotion in the capital Kolkata from afternoon onwards. This place is considered to be one of the most secure areas of the capital Kolkata.

This place comes under the assembly constituency of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and MP Abhishek Banerjee’s residence on Harish Chatterjee Road is just 500 meters away from her residence. In view of the possibility of a bomb inside the unclaimed box, a rapid investigation was started. The roads leading to Abhishek’s residence were closed, later the road was opened. The police took the box into their custody.

What is kept inside the unclaimed cartoon box was investigated. At present, the dog squad had also reached the spot. The local police station was informed about it. When the rumor of bomb spread, the bomb disposal squad was also informed. After this, the bomb disposal squad personnel went to the spot and opened the box.

A large quantity of medicines were recovered from the box. Meanwhile, as soon as the bomb disposal squad arrived, a huge crowd of people gathered in the area. A local resident said, “I saw it lying at 3 pm.” While coming back home, I saw that the number of people was gradually increasing. A discussion was going on. Now I see that the police has arrived. “The bomb disposal squad has arrived.”

TMC will contest elections alone in Bengal: Abhishek

Recently, TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee had reiterated that his party will maintain the policy of Ekla Chalo in the state and will contest alone in the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal in the year 2026. He also said that his party will also remain a part of the alliance India of opposition parties.

Speaking at Sebashra, a free health camp in Satgachhia in Diamond Harbour constituency on February 13, Abhishek Banerjee said that the TMC had successfully contested elections alone in the past and would continue to do so. Abhishek said, “Didi (Mamata Banerjee) has already made it clear that we will contest elections alone in West Bengal. This is nothing new. We have contested elections alone in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2024. We performed well then and we will do so in the future as well.”
