Trump-Zelensky: The whole world saw the heated exchange between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office. Trump took a sharp stance towards Zelensky and accused him of endangering the lives of millions of people and said that his actions could have triggered the Third World War. In response, Zelensky left without signing an important mineral agreement with the US.

‘Ukraine will not sign a ceasefire with Putin’

Zelensky said, “It is important for us to get the support of President Trump. He wants to end the war, but no one wants peace more than us. We are living the war in Ukraine. This is a fight for our freedom, our existence.” Zelensky posted on X, “As President Reagan once said, peace is not just the absence of war. We are talking about a just and lasting peace – freedom, justice and human rights for all. Ukraine will not have a ceasefire with Putin. He has broken the ceasefire 25 times in the last ten years. Real peace is the only solution.”

No peace without security guarantees – Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky said, “I cannot change Ukraine’s strategy regarding Russia. Russians are our enemies, they are killing us and this is the reality we are facing. Ukraine wants peace, but it must be a just and lasting peace. For this we need to be strong at the negotiating table. Peace can come only when we have security guarantees, when our army is strong and our partners are strong.” ‘Russians came to our homes and killed people’

Zelensky said, “It will be difficult without American support, but we cannot lose our will, our independence or our people. We have seen how the Russians came to our homes and killed many people. If we cannot be accepted into NATO then we need security guarantees from our allies in the US.”
