A major accident has been witnessed in Ludhiana, Punjab. Where, a factory building located in Focal Point Phase 8 collapsed. 5 people are reported to be injured in this incident while six people are reported to be buried under the debris. NDRF’s help is being taken to rescue the people trapped in the debris. The NDRF team has reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
While talking to the media about the incident, Ludhiana DC Jitendra Jorwal said that repair work was going on in the building of Koli Time Factory. During this time this accident happened. About 12 people were working in the factory. He told that 5-6 people have been rescued in the incident and they have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Rescue operation to evacuate the trapped people
The DC further said that six people are still trapped in the debris and a rescue operation is being carried out to safely evacuate them. He said that the SDM has been entrusted with the task of investigation to find out the reasons behind this accident. The incident will be investigated by them only. Only after which it will be clear how the incident happened and what was the reason behind it.
Cabinet Minister Hardeep Mundian also reached the spot and said that this accident happened in the factory located in the street in front of his house. He told that he reached the spot as soon as he got the information about the incident. He said that rescue work is going on and at present 12 people are working in the factory. He told that he has come to know that six people are still trapped below due to the collapse of the factory roof.
CM gave instructions to the officials
Regarding the incident, the Chief Minister of the state Bhagwant Mann has also posted on social media X and directed the administration to take immediate stock. The CM has said that there has been information about the collapse of a factory building in Ludhiana. I have issued instructions to the administration to take immediate stock of the situation. Rescue teams have reached and have started their work. I wish the workers buried under the debris to come out safely and get well soon.
