Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has targeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. He has said that after nearly 4 years of forming the government in Tamil Nadu, the Stalin-led DMK has nothing to show. Except for massive corruption, huge failures in law and order, increase in taxes and electricity rates, which are causing great trouble to the people.
He said that the state government is raising unnecessary issues to divert the attention of the people. The minister said that the DMK wants to divert attention from the ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on liquor supply companies in Tamil Nadu, in which documents revealing bribes of Rs 1,000 crore have been found.
‘Attempt to tarnish NEP 2020’
The Union Minister said that efforts were made by the DMK to tarnish the National Education Policy – NEP 2020 even after the same three-language formula of NEP was retained in 1986. He said that providing too much flexibility and more options to non-Hindi speaking states shows the hypocrisy of the party.
‘The decision to change the symbol of the rupee is wrong’
Along with this, the minister also raised questions on the decision to use the Tamil script ரூ instead of the official symbol ₹ used as the symbol of the rupee in the state. He said that the recent decision of the Tamil Nadu government to change the symbol of the rupee designed by a Tamil shows its contempt for institutions and constitutional bodies.
‘There will be no injustice to the southern states’
On the other hand, regarding delimitation, he said that on this issue both Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have publicly said that there will be no injustice to the southern states, despite this Chief Minister Stalin is doing politics on this issue.
Politics intensifies in South India regarding delimitation
In fact, politics has intensified in South India regarding delimitation. The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu is constantly protesting against it. Recently, Chief Minister Stalin had launched a scathing attack on the Central Government and BJP regarding the delimitation of Lok Sabha seats and the National Education Policy (NEP). He alleged that the BJP is using delimitation to retain its power in the northern states and NEP is an attempt by the BJP to promote Hindi.
Stalin’s decision to change the ₹ symbol
At the same time, Stalin has taken a big step and decided to use the Tamil script ரூ instead of the official symbol ₹ used as the symbol of rupee in the state. ₹ is recognized as the official symbol of the Indian currency rupee in the country, but the Tamil Nadu CM says that this step has been taken to promote Tamil in the state and save the language.
