Amid the ongoing language row in Tamil Nadu, DMK leader TKS Elangovan targeted Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and said, ‘He does not know anything about the state’s politics… Education in mother tongue is the best way to train people’.

DMK on Pawan Kalyan: Amid the ongoing language controversy in Tamil Nadu, DMK leader TKS Elangovan fiercely targeted Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. He said, ‘He (Pawan Kalyan) does not know anything about state politics’.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan criticized the Stalin government over the anti-Hindi movement in Tamil Nadu and said that imposing Hindi is just hypocrisy.

Pawan Kalyan fiercely targeted the Tamil Nadu government over the anti-Hindi movement during the celebrations organized on the 12th foundation day of his party in Pithampuram, Kakinada. He said, ‘I do not understand why some people oppose Sanskrit and why there is anti-Hindi movement in Tamil Nadu, while Tamil films are dubbed in Hindi to earn money from them. Those people want to earn money from Bollywood films but do not want to adopt Hindi. I do not understand what kind of logic this is’.

DMK leader targets Pawan Kalyan

Rejecting Pawan Kalyan’s allegations, DMK leader Elangovan, while speaking to news agency ANI, said, ‘He should remember that Hindi has been opposed in the state since 1938. We had passed a law in the state assembly that Tamil Nadu will always follow the two-language formula as it was based on the advice and suggestions of education experts and not actors. This bill was passed in 1968 itself, when Pawan Kalyan was not even born. He does not know the politics of Tamil Nadu’.

He said, ‘This is not the first time we have opposed Hindi as we believe that education in mother tongue is the best way to train people’.

AIADMK targets DMK

Speaking to news agency ANI, AIADMK spokesperson Kovai Sathyan said, ‘Kalyan has linked business with the cultural fabric of Tamil Nadu, which is completely different, while targeting the DMK, he said, ‘DMK is doing dirty politics over NEP’.

He said, ‘We are looking at NEP as a backdoor for Hindi which will infiltrate and dominate over time. The central government and agencies have already done this in Tamil Nadu’.
