Devendra Yadav: Targeting the BJP government, the Congress said that it is only holding meetings and not implementing the promises made to the public, implement the interest-free scheme of Rs 25,000 crore for women entrepreneurs

Devendra Yadav: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav on Saturday demanded that the Delhi government implement an interest-free scheme of Rs 25,000 crore for women entrepreneurs on the lines of the Telangana government and include it in the upcoming budget.

He said that the Congress is committed to the development, respect and economic empowerment of women. In the states where there are Congress governments, the election promises are being fulfilled on time. An example of this is the new scheme of the Telangana government, under which women entrepreneurs will be given an interest-free amount of Rs 25,000 crore.

‘BJP government is only holding meetings, no concrete steps in public interest’

Targeting the BJP government, Devendra Yadav said that a month has passed since the formation of the new government in Delhi, but till now no order has been issued on the promises made to the public. He said that since March 5, the government is only holding meetings and is trying to confuse the public, but no concrete decision has been taken.

He said that before the Delhi elections, BJP had made many announcements under Modi’s guarantee, but now no action is being taken on them. No concrete blueprint has been presented so far for schemes like Rs 2,500 monthly prosperity amount to women, gas cylinder for Rs 500, free cylinder on Holi and Diwali, increase in women’s pension. He said that the government has announced only Rs 5,100 crore for the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, but no time limit has been set for its implementation.

‘Congress fulfills what it says’

Devendra Yadav said that the Congress governments in Telangana, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh have fulfilled their election promises. The schemes announced for women, elderly, farmers and youth are being implemented there rapidly.

He said, ‘Congress does not just make announcements, but also implements them. The Telangana government’s Rs 25,000 crore interest-free scheme is the biggest example of this. On the other hand, in BJP ruled states, election promises are either not implemented or are only implemented in name.’

‘Women of Delhi should also get financial help’

Devendra Yadav said that the BJP government should bring a similar scheme to make the women of Delhi financially strong. He demanded that a provision for this scheme should be made in the upcoming budget, so that women entrepreneurs can get interest-free loans and become self-reliant.

He said that the BJP government is doing injustice to the women of Delhi. If the government really wants to work in the interest of women, then it should take a big decision like the Telangana government. Congress will go among the people with this issue and fight for the rights of women.
