Gurugram: An incident of firing took place at a hotel in Pataudi in Gurugram district of Haryana on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Three people were injured in this incident. Gurugram Police has detained hotel operator Raj Kumar in this case. The police station is engaged in further action.
According to Gurugram Police, two of the injured were passersby. The third injured was a relative of the woman, who had allegedly run away and was staying in the hotel with her lover, while searching for whom the family reached the hotel and were trying to enter it.
This incident happened around 11:30 am on Tuesday. When many people including the woman’s family reached the hotel and started demanding to hand over the lover couple to them. Hotel operator Raj Kumar informed the police and handed over the couple to the police. However, the uproar of the crowd continued.
According to Gurugram Police, seeing the situation deteriorating, former soldier Raj Kumar fired five rounds on the crowd with his licensed pistol, injuring three people. Police have identified the injured as Wasim (relative of the woman, Ward 15 Pataudi), Saurabh and Sandeep (both residents of Ward 10, Pataudi). Police have detained Raj Kumar in this case.
Condition of 1 out of 3 injured is critical
Gurugram Police said, ‘Raj Kumar has been an Indian soldier and has been running a hotel since retirement.’ Seriously injured Wasim has been sent to Gurugram Hospital. While the other two injured are being treated in Pataudi. Pataudi police station has registered an FIR in this case under several sections of BNS and is investigating.
Gurugram Police is investigating the incident. Police station said that the police will take further action based on the facts revealed during the investigation.
