Lucknow: The conspiracy to overturn the Garib Rath Express in Rahimabad area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh was foiled by the vigilance of railway personnel and driver. The miscreants had kept a wooden block of two and a half feet long and six inches thick on the railway track between Dilawar Nagar and Rahimabad, which caused a loud noise when the train engine hit it. The driver immediately stopped the train and informed the Rahimabad station master, thus averting a major accident. On the complaint of the railway employee, Rahimabad police has registered a case against unknown people. A joint team of RPF and UP Police is investigating the matter thoroughly.
The incident took place between Dilawar Nagar and Rahimabad
The incident took place at around 2:43 am, when Saharsa-Anand Vihar Garib Rath Express (05577) was going towards Lucknow. A two and a half feet long, six inches thick dry wooden block and some green tree branches were found kept between the two tracks of the upline near pillar number 11099/11 between Dilawar Nagar and Rahimabad. They were covered with a yellow towel on which the name Ram was written. Apart from this, some mango branches were also kept near pillar number 11099/12. The train driver informed Rahimabad station master Om Prakash about hitting the wood.
Case registered against unknown people
On the information of the station master, gangman Rajesh Ranjan reached the spot and cleared the railway line by removing the gutkas, branches and towels kept on the track. RPF Inspector Hukum Singh and Rajesh Ranjan registered a case against unknown people in Rahimabad police station. Police said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the railway employee. A joint team of RPF and Uttar Pradesh Police is investigating the incident from every angle. Police will also conduct forensic investigation of the things found on the track. At the same time, suspicious faces are being searched by searching CCTV footage.
