Mumbai Gangster Arrested: Mumbai’s Azad Maidan Police has succeeded in arresting a gangster who was absconding for 37 years. Police sources said that the arrested gangster had serious crimes registered against him like attempt to murder and possession of illegal weapons.
The accused was hiding in those hilly areas where there was no mobile network to fool the police, but the police continued the search. Ultimately, without any concrete information, the absconding cell of Azad Maidan Police arrested the accused.
The police said that the name of the arrested accused is Mangesh Govind More alias Mangesh Manjrekar. He was a resident of Shastri Nagar area of Dombivali. More was absconding in a 37-year-old attempt to murder case. The accused was hiding since 1988, evading the police’s clutches. The police did not have any concrete information. It was only found out that the accused’s ancestral village is in Ranwad of Mahad taluka of Raigad district.
The police further said that the accused had left his family 37 years ago. He had also broken contact with relatives. Therefore, the police did not have any concrete information about him. The police only knew that the accused’s native village is in Ranwad of Mahad taluka. Based on the same information, the police were keeping an eye on his activities, but it was found that the accused was not coming there either.
Finally it was found that the accused lives in Nanemachi, a village in Waki Budruk, 15 km from the village. This village is located in a hilly area and there is no proper road to reach here. Apart from this, the mobile network is also not good in that area. In such a situation, the police team reached the spot and arrested the accused.
Manjrekar was wanted in a case of attempt to murder registered at Azad Maidan police station in South Mumbai in 1988 and a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. There are already other criminal cases registered against him.
