Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav claimed that the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had stopped the caste-based census and did nothing for the upliftment of OBCs.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday attacked the Congress fiercely over the caste census. He claimed that the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had stopped the caste-based census. Despite being in power for a long time, the Congress party did nothing for the upliftment of the Other Backward Classes (OBC). During this, CM Yadav has also cornered the previous Congress governments on the issue of law and order.

This statement of CM Mohan Yadav is a retort to the allegations leveled by MP Congress state president Jitu Patwari on the BJP. Patwari had said that the BJP government has failed to implement the system of providing 27 percent reservation to OBCs in educational institutions and government jobs in the state. CM Yadav should look into his own self before making false allegations to Jitu Patwari.

‘Congress has not given a single OBC CM to the state’

The Chief Minister has made this attack while addressing reporters in Indore. He said, ‘Before making false allegations, the Congress state president should look into his own self and know the past of his party. The caste census in the country was stopped by the first Prime Minister Nehru. The Congress government remained in power for 55 years, but it did nothing for the upliftment of OBCs.

Yadav, who is among the prominent OBC leaders of BJP, said, ‘The current Prime Minister of the country belongs to the OBC category. BJP has given four OBC Chief Ministers to Madhya Pradesh, while Congress did not give a single Chief Minister from this category to the state.’ Yadav cornered the previous Congress governments on the issue of law and order and also cited the case of mysterious death of Congress leader Sarla Mishra during 1997.

In the much talked about case of Sarla Mishra, the Bhopal District Court has recently rejected the police’s ‘closure report’ and ordered a re-investigation of the case. The Chief Minister said, ‘It is also not hidden from anyone that not only here, but in the entire country, Congress people have committed atrocities against women.’

Took a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s US visit too
During this, CM Mohan Yadav also took a dig at the US visit of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. He said that Rahul Gandhi has a habit of speaking against India during his foreign tours, which brings shame to the whole country. He said, ‘I hope that this time he will follow the right path during his foreign tour. I pray to Lord Mahakaal to give him wisdom.’
