Delhi: A heartbreaking incident came to light from Sangam Park area of North Delhi. In this case, two minor children out of four people of the same family who were allegedly exposed to toxic fumes died during treatment in the hospital. Delhi Police said on Monday that suicide is suspected. The condition of the parents remains critical. Both are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Bhishma Singh said that the incident is related to the bike horn manufacturing unit in ‘DSIDC Shed’ No. 63 in Sangam Park area. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Jagdish Singh (16) and Hargul Kaur (15).
The family was upset with the loss in business
Delhi Police said that the children who lost their lives in the accident belonged to the owner of the manufacturing unit, Hardeep Singh, and his wife Harpreet Kaur (38). According to the police, the entire family had reached the shed in the morning and got caught in the toxic fumes spread inside the premises. Police said that the family had suffered huge financial losses in the business.
According to Delhi Police, after receiving information about the incident, Hardeep Singh and his children were admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital. While Harpreet Kaur was taken to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital. Police said that Jagdish and Hargul died during treatment. While Hardeep and his wife are still under the supervision of doctors and their condition is said to be critical.
Police sealed the DSIDC shed
Delhi Police came to know about the incident when one of the victim children informed his relatives, who informed the police and emergency services. The officer said that the shed has been sealed and a case has been registered.
