New Delhi: Bad weather in Delhi-NCR affected flights, a total of 49 flights were delayed at the airport, 3 flights to Srinagar, 2 to Dehradun and 1 each to Bhatinda, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Mumbai were cancelled.

New Delhi: Bad weather in Delhi-NCR also affected flights. A total of 49 flights were delayed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. These include 16 international and 33 domestic flights. Along with this, 11 flights also had to be cancelled. Three flights from Srinagar, two from Dehradun and one each from Bhatinda, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Mumbai were cancelled.

16 international flights delayed

Only the flights departing from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport were delayed, while all the flights arriving here arrived smoothly. 16 international flights were delayed. Talking about domestic flights, a total of 33 flights were delayed. Passengers had to face trouble due to the delay in flights. On the other hand, passengers coming to Delhi did not face any problem. All flights landed on time.

Strong storm, rain on Saturday afternoon

Strong storm and light rain occurred in many parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region on Saturday afternoon. About one mm of rain was recorded in Delhi till 3 pm. Central Delhi, Maharani Bagh, Mayur Vihar, Ghaziabad and Noida also received light rain. However, the wind speed remained quite high. The IMD said that the minimum temperature was 24.3 degrees Celsius, which is 2.2 degrees below the season’s average.

According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 183 at 9 am, which falls in the ‘moderate category’. According to the CPCB, AQI between zero to 50 is considered ‘good’, between 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, between 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, between 201 to 300 ‘bad’, between 301 to 400 ‘very bad’ and between 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
