Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tejasvi Surya on Sunday said he will be part of an all-party delegation to visit the US and Latin America to present India’s stand against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Surya will join Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and others in the visit, which will be from May 23 to June 6.
Visit to 32 countries and the European Union
The initiative is part of a major diplomatic initiative of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, under which seven multilateral delegations have been formed to visit 32 countries and the European Union.
Retired diplomats also included in the team
Each team consists of retired diplomats who will assist the MPs. The objective of these delegations is to present India’s firm and unified stand against terrorism and emphasize its right to respond to cross-border attacks.
Surya will join Shashi Tharoor
BJP MP Surya said, ‘I will join Dr Shashi Tharoor in the delegation of Indian MPs going to the US. We will bring to the world India’s message against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and our determination to eliminate it.’
Pakistan will be exposed on terrorism
According to Surya, Operation Sindoor symbolizes a precise, measured and morally appropriate response to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. He said that this campaign has become a global call for justice and through this journey, MPs from different parties will unite and underline India’s stand in dealing with terrorism.
Apart from Surya, these people will also be involved
He said, ‘This initiative reflects the Modi government’s commitment to build a global coalition against terrorism and advance India’s diplomatic leadership on the world stage.’ Karnataka is being represented by two MPs in this international initiative. Apart from Surya, Mangaluru MP Captain Brijesh Chowta will be part of another delegation going to Britain, France and Germany. Surya has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju for giving him this responsibility.
