The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued the fifth summons to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning today. ED has issued this summons to Kejriwal in the alleged liquor scam. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party is going to protest in Delhi today. This demonstration will be held outside the BJP headquarters over allegations of rigging in the Chandigarh Mayor elections, in which CM Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will participate. However, Delhi Police did not approve the demonstration. Now the question is arising whether CM Kejriwal will appear before the ED or join the protest?
ED had earlier sent summons to Delhi CM on January 17, January 3, December 21 and November 2, but he did not appear. On the fourth summons, Kejriwal had said that BJP wants to get me arrested, so that I cannot campaign in the Lok Sabha elections. Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and AAP MP Sanjay Singh are in jail in the liquor policy case. At the same time, BJP has targeted CM Kejriwal for not appearing before the ED summons and the investigating agency.
Kejriwal’s allegation, notices are being sent as part of political conspiracy
ED wants to record Kejriwal’s statement on issues like the meetings held before making and finalizing the policy and allegations of corruption in this case. After ignoring the fourth notice, Kejriwal said that all the four notices sent to him by ED are illegal in the eyes of law. Whenever such general, non-specific notices were sent by the ED in the past, the court either canceled them or declared them invalid. CM Kejriwal alleges that notices are being sent as part of a political conspiracy.
Delhi Police alert, paramilitary force deployed
Here, alleging rigging in the Chandigarh Mayor elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has decided to hold a big demonstration in Delhi today. CM Kejriwal will participate in the protest. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also be present with him. Aam Aadmi Party will protest in front of BJP headquarters in Delhi. However, permission for protest has not been given by Delhi Police. Delhi Police is fully alert. Besides, it has been decided to deploy about 1 thousand Delhi Police and Paramilitary forces.
Security arrangements tightened at Singhu border
Due to the demonstration of Aam Aadmi Party, DDU route will be closed for traffic, due to which there may be heavy traffic jam around New Delhi and Center Delhi. Police has received information about the arrival of Aam Aadmi Party workers from many areas of Delhi and also workers from Punjab, due to which security arrangements have been tightened at the Singhu border.
