Rajasthan: During the recent tension between India and Pakistan, Turkey’s support to the neighboring country seems to be costly. Opposition to Turkey is constantly increasing in India. Meanwhile, a big decision has also been taken by Rajasthan’s Hardev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication.

In fact, the university has canceled the agreement with Turkey. This agreement has been canceled due to Turkey’s support to Pakistan in the war between India and Pakistan. Hardev Joshi University signed an MoU with Turkey’s Afyon Kocatepe University on June 22 last year.

‘It was necessary to do so’

The university has said that this step has been taken due to Turkey’s anti-India stance. It had become very necessary to do so due to national security and sovereignty. The MoU was signed for academic exchange between the two universities.

These universities also broke the agreements

Let us tell you that before Hardev Joshi University, many well-known universities of the country have canceled their agreements with Turkey. Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Jamia Millia Islamia University and Lovely Professional University (LPU) have terminated all Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the institutions of Turkey and Azerbaijan. Apart from this, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in Hyderabad also canceled its academic MoU with the Yunus Emre Institute of Turkey.

Several prominent Indian universities suspended their academic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Turkey’s institutions citing national security concerns. Jamia Millia Islamia issued a statement on Thursday announcing the immediate suspension of all MoUs with any institution affiliated with the government of Turkey.
