Vijay Wadettiwar on Operation Sindoor: Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar in Maharashtra on Wednesday (May 21) asked the government a question that created a stir in the political corridors. The Congress leader’s question was that when there was tension between India and Pakistan, why did India launch missiles worth Rs 15 lakh to deal with the Chinese drones launched by Pakistan?
‘Why did you launch missiles worth Rs 15 lakh?’ – Congress
According to the report of news agency PTI, senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar said that during ‘Operation Sindoor’, Pakistan launched cheap Chinese drones worth Rs 15,000 each. To deal with them, India launched missiles worth Rs 15 lakh each. To what extent is this correct?
While talking to the media in Nagpur, the former state minister raised the question whether it is wrong to seek information from the government about the losses incurred amid the tension?
Congress’s response to Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement
Meanwhile, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge had called ‘Operation Sindoor’ a ‘petty war’ between India and Pakistan, after which politics had intensified. When Vijay Wadettiwar was questioned about this, he said that if our country suffers losses in the tension between two countries, our soldiers are martyred or our countrymen lose their lives, then it is not wrong to question the government.
Congress leader questions Modi government
Vijay Wadettiwar again asked whether India has lost Rafale fighter jets in this operation? He said, “Pakistan fired 5000 Chinese drones towards India, which might be worth Rs 15,000 each, but we destroyed those drones worth Rs 15,000 each with missiles worth Rs 15 lakh each. The government should explain the reasons for the losses along with the information about them.”
