The New York Times has given this news quoting a letter sent by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem to Harvard University. Noem wrote in the letter, “I am writing to inform you that the certification of Harvard University’s student and academic exchange admission program has been revoked with immediate effect.”

What will happen to 788 Indian students?

According to Harvard’s official records, 500 to 800 Indian students take admission here every year. At the same time, about 6800 students from all over the world reach here. This year 788 Indian students took admission. Now in such a situation, the problem of these students is going to increase. Foreign students have been told to either enroll in another institution or lose their legal status in the US. Therefore, Indian students will have the option of enrolling in another institution. If they do not do so, they may have to leave the US.

What will happen to the current students studying in Harvard

There is good news for the students who have completed the current semester at Harvard. They will be able to complete their graduation. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem has mentioned this in her letter. She has written that the change made by the Trump government will be implemented from the 2025-26 school year.
