Rajasthan: A big fraud has been exposed in the recruitment of the Secondary Education Department in Jalore district of Rajasthan. During the verification of documents in the ongoing investigation by the Special Operation Group (SOG), it was revealed that many teachers had appeared in the examination by making dummy candidates sit or got government jobs by submitting fake degrees.
The SOG had started an investigation considering a total of 297 personnel of the Secondary Education Department in the entire state as suspicious, out of which two new cases have now been registered against 34 of Jalore district. Earlier also four cases have been registered against 65 personnel.
ADG of SOG V.K. Singh said that an SIT was formed for a thorough investigation of this entire matter and a helpline number 9530429258 was also issued, on which a large number of complaints were received. The accused had got the job by making dummy candidates sit in their place in the examination or by presenting fake educational documents. The SIT sought information about the recruitments done in the last five years from all the government departments of the state and all the departments were directed to ensure whether the appointed personnel had taken the exam themselves or someone else.
‘All documents were thoroughly examined’
An eight-member committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Director of Secondary Education, Bikaner, which thoroughly examined all the documents including educational documents, application forms, photographs and signatures. After this, a list of 34 such names was handed over to the SOG, in which irregularities were confirmed. Many of these are related to schools in Jalore district and criminal cases have now been registered against all of them.

The cases that have come to light in Jalore district include lecturer Shailesh Kumar working in Government Higher Secondary School (Un), senior teacher Bhalawanti Kumari in (Jhujhuni), lecturer Vinita and senior teacher Viktram Kumar in (Dungri), senior teacher Vishnu Kumar Bishnoi in (Galifa), senior teacher Shriram Bishnoi in (Isrol), lecturer Deependra Bishnoi and Manoj in (Malwada), senior teacher Sundarlal in (Jodhawas), senior teacher Shravan Kumar Bishnoi in (Suntakoi), senior teacher Joitaram Dewasi in (Dugava) Sanchore.
Similarly, Lecturer Dinesh Kumar in (Chitlawana), Lecturer Manohar Bishnoi in (Tampi), Senior Teachers Pappuram Siyak and Surendra Kumar in (Janvi), Senior Teachers Narendra Kumar in (Sangdawa), Senior Teacher Suresh Kumar in (Ranodar), Lecturer Bhanwarlal Bishnoi in (Khirodi), Senior Teacher Isra Ram in (Bhutel), Senior Teacher Shravan Kumar in (Halibab), Lecturer Indu Bala in (Veerawa), Senior Teacher Mahendra Kumar in (Ajodar) Sanchore, Senior Teacher Bhajan Lal in (Gang) Sanchore, Lecturer Viktram Saran in (Jyori) Sanchore, Senior Teacher Govind Kumar in (Medajaghir), Lecturer Bhanwarlal Bishnoi in (Dantiya), Headmaster Ruda Ram in (Bambarla), Senior Teacher Anil Kumar in (Badasam), Senior Teacher Raghunath Ram in (Moukhatra), Lecturer Dinalal in (Surawa), ( The names of senior teacher Mahendra Kumar in (Nagar), lecturer Bhanwarlal in (Sarnau) and lecturer Shravan Kumar in (Sedia) are prominently included.
All of them are accused of cheating in various examinations conducted for recruitment to posts like lecturer, senior teacher, headmaster. The examinations in which irregularities were found include Lecturer Recruitment Examination 2018 and 2022, Senior Teacher Recruitment Examination 2022, Teacher Level-1 Recruitment Examination 2018, Laboratory Assistant Direct Recruitment Examination 2018-19, Physical Education Grade III Recruitment Examination 2018 and 2022, Librarian Recruitment Examination 2018, Physical Training Instructor Recruitment Examination 2018 and Teacher Level-1 Special Teacher Recruitment Examination 2022.
There may be more arrests in these cases registered by SOG. These revelations that have come to light in Jalore district have raised questions on the transparency of the recruitment process in the Secondary Education Department. Now it remains to be seen how strict action is taken against the culprits and how far this chain of fraud goes.
