Corona cases increased rapidly to more than 1200 in many states of the country including Delhi

New Delhi: India is once again witnessing a rise in coronavirus cases. According to the Health Ministry, the number of active cases in the country has crossed 1200. Cases are increasing rapidly in states like Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi. States have been instructed to increase surveillance and vigilance.

A COVID-19 isolation ward has been set up at Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. Earlier, four patients were admitted here, out of which only two patients are admitted now after two of them tested negative. The condition of both the patients remains stable and they are feeling better now. They were admitted four days ago due to difficulty in breathing and high fever.

Conversation with the patient’s family

While talking to the patient’s family while wearing a PPE kit, Anuj Dwivedi said, “My mother’s condition is stable, but she is still COVID positive.” Anuj’s mother was admitted to RML Hospital four days ago. She first had a kidney infection, then suddenly started having trouble breathing. When his health deteriorated, the private hospital referred him to RML Hospital.

Covid situation in RML Hospital

Dr. Pawan Kumar, nodal officer of the Covid-19 ward, said that at present only two patients are admitted in the hospital and both are in stable condition. Dr. Pawan said, “Although the current situation is not serious, people need to be cautious. Avoid crowds and wear masks.”

According to Dr. Pawan, the new variant of Covid is not more dangerous than the old variants. Symptoms like cough and fever are mainly seen in infected patients. However, nothing can be said clearly about its contagiousness yet. He said that in the earlier waves, patients needed oxygen, ventilators and ICU, but at present there is no such situation.

Hospital preparations complete

The oxygen plant is already operational in RML Hospital and there is also full staff arrangement. If needed, the number of beds in the hospital can be increased from 100 to 400. Apart from this, a separate isolation center is also ready in the hospital.
