Delhi Rape Case: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav on Monday (9 June) met the victim’s family in the case of rape and murder of an innocent girl in Mustafabad and expressed his condolences. He also assured full justice. Devendra Yadav said that the incident of killing a girl and locking her in a suitcase in the jungle raj prevailing in Delhi is heartbreaking, which has exposed the ruined law and order situation in Delhi.
Devendra Yadav said, “Delhi Congress will ensure justice to the family of the nine-year-old girl and get the culprits punished severely. The delegation of Delhi Congress will soon meet the Police Commissioner on this matter and discuss this heinous incident as well as the increasing crimes in Delhi, drug trade to improve the law and order situation.” He said that our fight will not be limited to getting justice to the victim’s family but will also be to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.
‘Crimes are not stopping in triple engine government’
Devendra Yadav further said, “Crimes are not stopping under the rule of BJP’s triple engine government and the capital is unsafe for girls and women, which is very shameful. The Rekha Gupta government, busy enjoying the power, has nothing to do with the people of Delhi. The government is more sensitive about the safety of its leaders rather than the safety of the people of Delhi.” He further said that expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order of Delhi, I had written a letter to the Police Commissioner on May 24 and requested to control the increasing crimes in Delhi.
The Delhi Congress President also said, “I want to ask what was decided in the meetings of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the law and order of Delhi because crimes in Delhi are continuously increasing and the Chief Minister and Union Home Minister are maintaining silence.”
‘Is there anyone who will give justice to the girl’
He also said, “The question remains whether there is anyone in the triple engine government who will take responsibility for the heinous crimes happening in Delhi and get justice for the girl’s family.” He said that crimes are constantly increasing in Delhi due to which the common people of Delhi are living in the shadow of fear.
Devendra Yadav said, “It has been revealed in the annual report of Delhi Police that 6 rapes, 2 murders, 18 snatchings (there are hundreds of chain snatching cases which are not registered) and 3 robberies are being registered every day in the capital. Crimes are happening in Delhi under the nose of Delhi Police under the BJP’s central government and the police seems completely helpless in stopping the crimes and catching the criminals.”
Congress surrounded BJP on Delhi’s Dayalpur incident, ‘An innocent girl’s screams and…’
The political temperature has risen due to the brutality with a 9-year-old innocent girl in Nehru Vihar, Dayalpur, Delhi. Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav raised questions on the current Delhi government and said that how long will the blood splattered streets of Delhi, the screams of an innocent girl and then the silence last.
He said, “In Nehru Vihar, Dayalpur, an unknown person crossed all limits of brutality with a 9-year-old girl. After rape, she was brutally murdered and then an attempt was made to dispose of the body by stuffing it in a suitcase. This heart-wrenching incident is not just a crime, but the dark truth of the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi under the BJP rule.”
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav said on this incident, “Since when did the daughters of Delhi become so unsafe in the jungle raj of triple engine BJP? The party whose leaders are surrounded by allegations of sexual harassment and no action is taken against them, how will it give justice to the daughters of Delhi?”
More concerned about giving Z+ security to the state president – Yadav
Yadav said, ”When all the meetings of the Chief Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are proving to be just a show on paper, then why are crimes increasing in Delhi?” He said in a stern tone, BJP is more concerned about giving Z+ security to its state president, but what about the safety of the people of Delhi? These innocent people are paying the price of their jungle raj every time.
Let us tell you that on Saturday night of June 7, at around 8:41 pm, Dayalpur police station received the news of sexual harassment and murder of a minor girl in Nehru Vihar’s lane number 2. On getting the information of the incident, the team that reached the spot came to know that the girl’s father had taken her to the hospital, where the doctors declared her dead. During the initial investigation in the hospital, the doctors saw injury marks on the girl’s face and suspected sexual harassment.
The body was kept in the mortuary of Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case of sexual assault and murder under Sections 103(1)/66/3(2) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the POCSO Act and started investigation.
