Devender Yadav: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav has targeted the Delhi government. He alleged that the scorching heat in Delhi has broken all previous records and the people of Delhi are struggling to earn their livelihood on roads, public places, bus stops, markets.
He said that the BJP government has probably forgotten the comprehensive plan announced by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the middle of April to protect against heatwave and this plan also reflects the hollow announcements made by the BJP during its 100-day tenure.
Allegation of forgetting the announcements and ignoring the people of Delhi
Devendra Yadav said that due to its confusing working style, the BJP’s triple engine government is forgetting the previous announcements and ignoring the people of Delhi. The Chief Minister of Delhi has no concern with the problems of the people of Delhi.
Devendra Yadav told what was the government’s plan
Devendra Yadav said that the comprehensive plan announced by the Rekha Gupta government to provide relief to the people of Delhi from the heatwave included the proposal to build 3000 water coolers, cold centers at public places, arrangement of cold water at bus stops, shade structures on footpaths and green roofs etc. and announced the construction of heatwave wards in big hospitals for the treatment of people affected by the scorching heat. But after the Delhi Congress visited Delhi, it has been revealed that the BJP government has no arrangements to deal with the heatwave.
Devendra Yadav said that it is extremely worrying that after a detailed discussion in the Delhi Cabinet, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had announced a comprehensive plan to deal with the heatwave, which is not known at the ground level at this time of scorching heat.
Targeted BJP
He said that making empty promises and promoting false schemes is a part of the BJP’s working style. He said that when poor helpless labourers walking on roads and footpaths, people waiting at bus stops are facing the heat, BJP’s plan to deal with the heatwave is missing.
Devendra Yadav said that Delhiites are waiting for facilities like 3000 water coolers, cooling shelters on roads, shading structures on footpaths, green roofs, but the government has kept quiet after announcing it. For the BJP government, the value of the lives of the people of Delhi is limited only to papers, it has proved completely unsuccessful in eliminating the real problems.
