Pavithran, who is handling the responsibility of Deputy Tehsildar in Vellarikundu Taluk Office of Kasargod district, has been suspended for making sexual harassment and caste related remarks against Ranjita of Nair community.

Case registered against the accused officer

Police said that the accused was arrested a few hours after this comment. On this matter, an officer of Hosdurg police station in Kasargod district said, Pavithran has been booked under sections 75 (1) (4) (making sexual remarks), 79 (intent to insult a woman) and 196 (1) (A) (promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of caste) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The officer said that a case has also been registered against him under section 67 (A) (punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information and Technology (IT) Act.

The officer has been suspended

Let us tell you that Ranjita has also died in the Ahmedabad plane crash. Ranjita was a mother of two children and was working as a nurse in Britain. After spending some time abroad, she had come to Kerala once again to plan to join government services and complete her job related formalities. On this matter, the state Revenue Minister termed Pavithran’s remarks as derogatory and said that an order has been issued to suspend the accused officer.
