Maharashtra: 8 people died in a road accident in Pune district

Pune: Another accident has happened in Pune district of Maharashtra. 8 people died in a road accident on Jejuri Morgaon Road here. This accident happened due to a collision between a sedan and a pickup truck.

What is the whole matter?

This accident happened in front of Shriram Dhaba near Kirloskar Company on Jejuri Morgaon Road. When a Swift Dzire car (number MH 42 AX 1060) was going from Jejuri to Morgaon, it hit a pickup truck (number MH 12 X M 3694) in front of Shriram Dhaba, which was unloading material.

Recently the bridge on Indrayani river was broken
Recently there was a loss of life due to the collapse of the bridge on Indrayani river in Maval tehsil of Pune district. In this accident, 4 people were reported dead and 18 people were injured. After this incident, District Magistrate Jitendra Doodi had said, “Keeping in mind the incident, we have now decided to remove or break such bridges in the district, because the purpose is not achieved by putting up barricades etc. Visitors, tourists usually do not pay attention and put their lives at risk by bypassing these barricades. We have identified such structures in the district and after the final survey, these structures will be removed permanently.”

Road accident cases are increasing continuously

Recently, Delhi Police had released a data and told that in the last 5 months in Delhi alone, more than 500 people have died in road accidents. Official figures say that about four people die every day in road accidents. Delhi Police said that in the year 2025, between January and May, 2,235 road accidents took place, in which 577 people lost their lives and 2,187 people were injured. If we talk about the year 2024, then during these 5 months, a total of 2,322 cases of accidents were reported and 652 people lost their lives.
