Uddhav Thackeray: Uddhav Thackeray accused BJP of failing alliance with MNS, warned BJP of facing serious consequences if it damages the ‘Thackeray brand’.

Uddhav Thackeray ON BJP: Amid speculations of reconciliation between Thackeray brothers in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray has made a big statement. On Thursday, June 19, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Uddhav Thackeray said that the BJP is trying to thwart the possibility of an alliance of Shiv Sena UBT with Raj Thackeray’s MNS before the municipal elections.

Addressing a rally on the occasion of the 59th foundation day of the undivided Shiv Sena formed by Balasaheb Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray warned the BJP. He said that if the BJP damages the ‘Thackeray brand’, it will have to face serious consequences.

Not only this, Uddhav said that meetings are being held in hotels and other places to thwart the possibility of an alliance of Marathi parties. He was apparently referring to Raj Thackeray’s meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at a five-star hotel.

‘When you come to pick me up, bring your own ambulance’

Uddhav Thackeray, repeating a dialogue from the Nana Patekar-starrer film ‘Prahaar’, said, “Whatever people want will happen. We will see how it is done. The BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena do not want Marathi parties to unite. If you try to finish the Thackeray brand, we will finish the BJP. I am ready. I want to tell the BJP – when you come to pick me up, bring your own ambulance.”

‘Hindi will not be imposed at any cost’

There is speculation that the two Thackeray cousins may form an alliance in view of the civic elections in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also said that Hindi will not be allowed to be imposed in the state at any cost.

Expressing confidence that the party will retain control over the Mumbai civic body, he said that the BJP wants to create a division between Marathi and Hindi-speaking people on the eve of the civic elections. Uddhav Thackeray claimed that the BJP has no legacy of its own and had to install a giant statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who had banned the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) while he was the country’s home minister. He alleged that the state government was giving Mumbai to the Adani Group ‘free of cost’ for the Dharavi redevelopment project. Thackeray also termed Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena rally as a ‘gathering of thieves’.
