New Delhi: Delhiites will soon be able to enjoy hot air balloon rides. DDA officials said that Delhiites will soon get the thrill of hot air balloon rides. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is working on a hot air balloon ride scheme at four places in the city. It is being claimed that the fee for hot air balloon rides will not be high. The date for starting this service is not yet decided but the DDA claims that it will be started soon.

Hot air balloon ride service will start at these four places in Delhi

According to DDA officials, after deliberations, four places – Bansara, Asita, Yamuna Sports Complex and Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex have been selected for the start of the project. The hot air balloon service will be operated by a nominated firm, which will work in collaboration with the DDA and provide staff. The DDA has issued a notice inviting tenders and the last date to apply is July 7.

The agency will get license for three years

A DDA official said that it has been made mandatory that the agency should have at least one year of experience in operating hot air balloon services or tethered hot air balloon services or similar aviation-based recreational activities. The official said that the license period will be three years, which can be extended for three periods up to a maximum of nine years.

How much will be the ticket for a ride in a hot air balloon

The DDA official said that the price of the ticket for a ride in a hot air balloon has not been decided yet. The ticket price will be decided by the firm. However, it should be reasonable and will need to be approved by the competent authority of the DDA. That is, the ticket rates will be decided only after the approval of the DDA. The company will not be able to charge money from tourists arbitrarily. To ensure transparency and record keeping, the sale of tickets will be done jointly by the firm and the DDA. The entire amount will be deposited in the DDA account.
