Nalanda: In a campaign against illegal arms smugglers in Bhagwan Bigha and Sohsarai police station areas of Bihar’s Nalanda district, police recovered 834 live cartridges from two different houses and arrested four people.

Nalanda: On Monday, in Bhagan Bigha and Sohsarai police station areas of Bihar’s Nalanda district, police and Special Task Force (STF) recovered 834 live cartridges from two different houses in a campaign against illegal arms smugglers. Four people have been arrested in this case. Police is interrogating the arrested people.

Special operation against smuggler gang

Bihar Sharif Sadar Deputy Superintendent of Police Nurul Haq said that Nalanda Police and STF launched a special operation against illegal arms and bullet smuggler gang, in which raids were conducted at various places in Sohsarai and Bhagan Bigha police station areas on the basis of the information received.

He said that during the raid at the rented house of Abhijit Kumar alias Robin Yadav located in Ashanagar of Sohsarai police station, a total of 717 live cartridges of different bores were recovered. In this sequence, Vishal Kumar (Haribigha, police station Hilsa), a relative of Abhijit Kumar alias Robin, who was present in the house, has been arrested.

During the raid at the house of Abhijit Kumar alias Robin Yadav in Bhagan Bigha, 117 bullets of different bores were recovered. Abhijit’s father Rajendra Prasad and Nikki Kumari and Nibha Kumari were arrested from here.

What does the Deputy Superintendent of Police have to say?

Bihar Sharif Sadar Deputy Superintendent of Police Nurul Haq said that the police is interrogating the arrested people. Earlier, under the said operation of the Special Task Force, Abhijit Kumar alias Robin was arrested from Mohania in Kaimur district while coming from Uttar Pradesh. 3,700 live cartridges were recovered from his car.

The police say that this whole matter is related to the arms smuggling gang. The police is also gathering information about other members of the gang in this case and is investigating the whole matter.
