Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, incidents like landslides, road blocks and buildings collapse were reported from many places. Now the India Meteorological Department has again issued a red alert for some parts of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

Heavy rain alert has been issued for the next two days in many districts of Himachal including Shimla, Manali, Kullu, Kufri, Bilaspur, Chamba, Dharamshala, Hamirpur. Himachal received 135 mm of rain in June, which is 34 percent more than the normal average of 101 mm. This was the 21st highest rainfall recorded in June in the state since 1901, which caused a lot of trouble. This led to incidents at many places, in which people also died.

285 roads of different districts closed

According to the State Emergency Operations Center, 285 roads are closed after the devastation caused by the rain in Himachal, which includes 129 roads in Mandi and 92 in Sirmaur. Along with this, 614 transformers and 130 water supply schemes have also been disrupted. Monsoon entered the state on June 20 and since then 34 people have died in different incidents in the state. Out of these, 17 people died in road accidents.

5-storey building razed to the ground in 5 seconds

On Monday, a five-storey building collapsed in Bhattakufar near Shimla. According to the information, the building collapsed in just 5 seconds. The officials had already evacuated the building so that there were no casualties. A government school in Bilaspur was flooded and more than 130 students were sent home. A similar scene was seen in a primary school in Junga area of ​​​​Shimla. In such a situation, schools have also been closed at many places. Two cowsheds and many cattle were washed away due to cloudburst in Rampur. However, the matter of relief is that there is no information about any casualties in this too.

Information about landslides and stone fall

Information about landslides and stone fall has come to light at five places on Shimla-Chandigarh National Highway. Due to this, traffic was limited to one lane. The Subathu-Waknaghat road in Solan and the Kanchi Mor section near Pandoh on the Chandigarh-Manali highway were also affected. Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to deploy machinery 24 hours a day to remove debris and monitor sensitive parts. Traffic police have been deployed to close the movement and help the passengers.

Cloud burst in Karsog of Mandi

Due to heavy rains, a cloud burst in Karsog of Mandi. Due to cloudburst, houses and vehicles were washed away in Panjrat village and Megli village of Karsog. In Megli here, the drain water started flowing through the village, due to which about 8 houses and two dozen vehicles were damaged. The road on Karsog bypass was also badly damaged. Due to torrential rains, flood-like conditions arose in Karsog of Mandi as well as Dharampur, Pandoh and Thunag.

Scene of devastation in many areas

In Pandoh, the drain flowed in such a fierce form that the water filled the village, after which people from many houses had to run away from their homes at midnight and reach the roads. The police camp located in Pandoh gave people a place to stay. In Dharampur, the river water started flowing about 20 feet above, due to which the market and the bus stand were submerged. In Thunag, the drain started flowing in the main market road itself. Water entered people’s houses. In such a situation, people spent the whole night awake.
