Himachal Pradesh: Due to heavy rains, the state has suffered property damage worth Rs 786 crores. In the last 25 days, 105 people have lost their lives in rain-related accidents in the state while 35 people are missing.

Monsoon rains are raining like a disaster on Himachal Pradesh. The condition of the state is bad due to rain. Most of the areas of the state continued to receive rain on Tuesday as well. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a danger of landslides at 22 places in the state. The roads of the National Highway have been washed away by water. 199 roads remained closed till Tuesday evening. 68 electricity transformers have stopped working.

Not only this, 171 drinking water schemes have also come to a standstill. The maximum damage has been seen in Mandi district. 141 roads are closed in Mandi. 61 transformers and 142 drinking water schemes have been affected. 18 drinking water schemes in Kangra and 11 in Sirmaur are not working. Other districts like Shimla, Solan, Una and Chamba have also suffered damage to a lesser extent.

According to the report of the Emergency Operations Center, the state has suffered property loss of Rs 786 crore so far due to the monsoon disaster rain. In the last 25 days, 105 people have lost their lives in rain-related accidents in the state, while 35 people are missing. At the same time, 186 people have been injured in rain-related accidents. The highest number of deaths have occurred in Mandi. 21 people have lost their lives here.

So far, 1046 houses have been partially or completely destroyed

17 people have died in Kangra, 11 in Kullu, 9 in Chamba, eight each in Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una. So far, 1046 houses have been partially or completely destroyed in the state. 188 shops and 798 cowsheds have been completely destroyed. In Mandi district alone, the number of affected houses is 856, shops 188 and cowsheds 644.

The agriculture and animal husbandry department has also suffered a lot due to heavy rains. So far, 21,500 poultry birds and 954 other animals have died. According to the government, the Jal Shakti Department has suffered the most losses. Property worth Rs 414 crore of the Jal Shakti Department has been affected. Officials in the state are on high alert.
