The case of the death of a youth due to electric shock in Dwarka area of Delhi has taken a new turn. Police have detained the deceased’s wife and his cousin and started questioning them. Officials suspect that both of them had conspired to kill the youth by electrocution by giving him sleeping pills.
This incident happened on July 13, when the police received information about the death of a youth named Karan Dev through a PCR call from Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital in Uttam Nagar. The youth was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state. The cause of death was stated to be electric shock in the medical examination, and the case was registered under Medico-Legal Case (MLC).
Suspicion of murder conspiracy
Police officials said that in the initial investigation it seemed like an accident, but Karan’s younger brother Kunal Dev contacted the police on July 17 and expressed suspicion that Karan’s death was not normal. He handed over some ‘chats’ between Karan’s wife and a cousin to the police, in which the matter of murder conspiracy has come to the fore.
This is how the murder was committed
The police say that in the preliminary investigation it has come to light that Karan was first given sleeping pills, due to which he became unconscious. After this, he was allegedly given an electric shock.
After committing the incident, the accused woman went straight to her in-laws and told them that Karan’s health had suddenly deteriorated. The family took him to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.
Police took action and registered a case
The police have taken the deceased’s wife and her alleged lover into custody and started questioning them. In this case, a case has been registered under Section 103 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).
